Mr. Jordon took over this show several times like the Mr. Jordan who used to dominate NBA games. Phil was no innocent bystander. He landed many floor-shaking bombs, especially in the H>S>F opening. However, the first set established a very high bar. From the opening triplet number, through the great Ship rendition (John dominating the vocals most of the show was a plus), the amazing HCS>Greensleeves (up there for highlight of the night with the second set Little Wing, with the 2 instrumentals where SJ just took over the house), to SOTOTW that could have easily ended the set and satisfied everyone, only to be succeeded by a hot Bertha closer and then an end of set group hug (not the norm, maybe not ever, but they know they'd done something very special) this is evidence why Phil likes to and should pave his own musical way. A remaining 4 band could not have played this show.

The second set could not surpass the first. Being as good would be just fine. It was. From start to go finish every musical theme and change of direction worked. They flubbed not a thing. Wish I were going tonight and tomorrow. It will be tough to beat last night though.

Great poster art too! Queen Of Diamonds. I was going to get the foil version at $95 (I think) for the way she shines. Figured I'd get it after the show. There were only 50 in foil. Less than 20 were sold when I checked. Lost out. All gone by time I got back to the merch stand at show's end. At nearly a C-note yet! Had to settle for one of the 150 non-foil ones at $40. Still a lot of dough for a non-foil poster, but you can see how nice a design it is up top. Wonder if they will use other cards for other two nights. They had nice patches too and at $10 maybe the best value there.

Loved the Coltrane version of Greensleeves! The whole show sounded amazing. JK was on too. Crosby was commanding on the piano. Awesome, jazzy show! Probably one for the ages.
