Tioga Downs is the cheesy racino that the NY state commished 10 minutes from my house last year. They run pacers during the summer months and have slots all year round.

When they said they were having Oteil and his band tonight as part of the ice river blues fest, I was psyched.

I walked in with Big Dave at 7pm, bought a ticket, and then walked into the casino and put a $20 in a 1/4 slot. My first play I won $559.

Cashed out and said beers on me!!!!!!!!

The warm up band was alright, Bad Weather Blues Band. But Oteil's band was on the money. Mark Kimbough the guitar player was out of this world.
He looked like an out patient from the hospital, but man could he play.....

I am not sure what tunes they played, funk tunes, country tunes, blues, and hendrix covers.

Mind blowin, you got me floating, manic depression, I was up and dancing. Two and 1/2 hours of rocking tunes.

The whole band is from alabama and they must have been freezing their rears off up here upstate. They gave Oteil the key to tioga county. He said he had never got the key to anything before, real nice, down to earth guy...

Thanks for the best night night I had since my pops died 6 weeks ago.

sweet- I haven't caught this band yet. Seen Oteil plenty in the ABB, but I know this is a different deal. The way he rocked Anyday (Derek & the Dominos) w/ ABB got me thinking I ought to check out the Peacemakers.

Startin' the night off w/ a a big enough slot win to cover the bar tab can't hurt - I'll betcha yer old man was smiling :-)
