excellent show...as far as I can see, "Mr. Soul" was played for the 1st time tonight on this tour...acoustics and sound mix very good for both shows...neil played his gretsch white falcon for several songs, also old black (obviously) and a les paul junior on several songs, which sounded awesome (single P90?)...one of the gold tops made a sound check appearance...

I was all the way up top leaning on the balcony wall SRO style for the 1st set...clear view of the stage and excellent sound, surprisingly...despite a lack of any information about the floor for the 2nd set, I decided to try and walked right through...several times before and during the set, security checked for either a band pass or the new SRO bracelets they gave out last night (apparently not in effect wednesday)...no bracelet / pass, they made you leave, and if you had an orch ticket, they made you go to your seat...

neil and the band really rocked out, some extended feedback jams, not as insane as the horse, but several songs (no hidden path, cinnamon girl, cortez, etc.) approached or equaled horse levels...neil stomping all over and really physically manipulating his guitars...cortez ended with all strings broken "I broke a string!" ha...based on the energy and some other shows, I think we could have gotten one more after this, but the strings sealed it and made for an appropriate ending...

neil in very good mood, kind of surly played for laughs...

"I'm changing brands (takes a swig of bottled beer) ahhh!"

crowd yelling songs as he decides what guitar or harmonica to choose: "you know, I'm working hard as hell up here"

crowd yelling, someone responds "shut up!", neil looks over, motions with his hands "it's ok, it's ok"

"I've playing these types of places (list a few reasons)...and I get reminded of my song titles"

crowd yelling for songs, NY slowly walks over to the song painting that has just been placed on the easel, looks at song title, then crowd, slowly walks back to guitar and give thumbs up for the song...ha

fire alarm goes off in middle of "the believer": "wait a minute, is someone whistling? we're going to start over, because anything worth doing is worth doing right...I hope you don't all catch on fire" or something along those lines

after the gold rush "this one's for you, al" 21st century lyric

no hidden path about 20 minutes

very organic stage show, completely different than Pegi's, various cinema style lights on stage, two guys up in the rigging working the spots by hand, stage crew manipulating the cinema lights by hand, especially during cinnamon / cortez...as the lights slowly panned from behind the band, and as some were raised and others lowered, the effect was incredible...simple white slights, no gels, an epic conclusion

more on that later, and why I think the ticket prices are justified

cryptic alphabet bulb lights spell out NEIL and PEGI at the show's conclusion

venue logistics are not the best, see thread in main room for those thoughts...

Any chance this show (or other nights) was taped? I know not likely, but if it's available I'd love to know.
