I'm guessing the Sugar Magnolia>Caution>Truckin' with Derek smoked?

I'm sure it was better than just Larry, Moe & Scheckie.

All in all - I enjoyed the show.

the Sugar mag>caution>truckin reprise with Derek did, in fact - smoke in a serious way. to say i was blown away is putting it mildly.

the part of that i did not care for was during caution when Jackie called out each member of the band except phil (I think except phil, can't exactly, perfectly remember...) point being for me anyway - jackie is too young to pull that off yet - can't scat well enough and with enough soul to make it happen in a natural way - sounds too forced and made up.

having said that - steve molitz realty shined here - only time you could really hear him in the mix well - we were on his side, about 12th row out so we could hear his amps, independent of the mix.

barry and larry campbell stepped on each other all night - no need for both of them to play lead IMO - one or the other is fine - or - conversely - have Jackie put down the guitar when barry there.

having said that - Barry would hit these insanely high notes withthe pedal steel that sounded like feedback to the untrained ear, but weren't

evening didn't flow well enough to really pull off the bookends of truckin' - too many stops and starts in between songs. I felt that way about the playin bookends tuesday night too.

Jackie is older then Pig Pen was when he died. Age has nothing to do with it, Jackie won't be able to pull off a convincing blues rap when he's 70. You either have it, or you don't.

You mean Bob's never going to get better on Lovelight?
