Not much to really say except that it was great. Not flawless. There were some miscues but there were so many sublime moments. The Astral Weeks portion was as good as you can imagine, especially Beside You and Astral Weeks. The cool thing about the playing of the album was generous Van on guitar, including some nice solos during Madame George. He had some guitar problems and had to put it down during Cyprus Avenue but he played it almost the entire rest of the Astral Weeks portion.

The first set was different than the Hollywood Bowl shows. Disappointed not to get St. Dominic's Preview and Wavelength but what we got was pretty special. This is more or less the set list though I think the last song of set I is wrong.'

Set I
Northern Muse (Solid Ground)
Glad Tidings
tb Sheets
Who Drove The Red Sports Car?
And It Stoned Me
So Quiet In Here
St. James Infirmary
Caravan
Comfortably Numb (yes the Pink Floyd Song)
Mystic Eyes (partial)>Gloria
Wild Honey(??)

Set II
Astral Weeks Live (album sequence)

E. Listen To The Lion

Oh, if you're going to the show, know that he goes on at 8pm on the dot and alcohol sales stop the minute he hits the stage

And it was HOT in the WAMU.

The last song of the first set was a mash up of Summertime In England and Town Called Paradise according to a guy who posted a review on a Van Morrison blog. I do recall a line or two from Summertime In England but that was it. I'm not familiar with Town Called Paradise.

Anyway, great show> Totally worth seeing if you are a fan of early Van Morrison.

I think Prine had the same deal for one of his shows.

Thanks Grady.
